The 2018 FIFA World Cup sparked hundreds of predictions across the world. Most of these predictions were mainly used for betting. Of course, the majority of these predictions didn’t come true, but, some did.

Zabiyaka, the goat, the psychic goat from Samara, Russia predicted that the match between Australia and Denmark would end in a draw. The goat was presented three food bowls, one branded with the Denmark flag and the other, with Australia’s. Instead of picking one of the flags, Zabiyaka went for the middle bowl suggesting a draw.

On June 21, 2018, the match went down and to the world’s surprise, it ended with a 1 – 1 draw. Zabiyaka became an online sensation overnight. Zabiyake won a competition against other psychic animals.

He was up against a squirrel, a monkey, a camel, and a python. It was an amazing prediction that grabbed the attention of millions of people around the globe. People are now looking forward to more predictions by Zabiyaka.

The Simpsons in 1997

In an episode of the long-running animated sitcom “The Simpsons” back in 1977, the show made quite the prediction. The episode was titled “The Cartridge Family” and in it, there was a prediction that Mexico and Portugal would go head to head in the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals. The prediction itself didn’t come true.

However, both teams made it to the knockout stage, and they were both favourite teams to make it all the way. Mexico, however, was defeated by Brazil 2 – 0 and Portugal also suffered a loss against Uruguay 2 – 1. It was a crazy prediction, but it was close.

Most predictions were made at least a year before the cup. Many of which didn’t come true or didn’t even come close.
